    Dylan and Cookie were on their way by boat to have an undisturbed romantic picnic at Lookout Point; a small private island. Unfortunately, their date is cut short when they stumble upon a lonely boat with a dead body. All thoughts of romance are forgotten when Cookie goes into FBI catch the bad guy mode. At the request of the Sheriff, FBI Agent Hunter, Cookie’s ex-partner comes to Secret Seal Isle to work with Cookie in the investigation of the crime. When Cookie’s rock star idol shows up at her Inn and apparently is an old flame of Dylan’s a bit of jealousy swirls inside her. Hunter and Cookie start their investigation by questioning the locals. Unbeknownst to Hunter and Cookie there is another crime in progress on the Isle that is intertwined with the dead body. With a mystery to solve, making sure her loosey-goosey mom stays out of trouble, and keeping her feelings for Hunter and Dylan in check she has a lot to deal with. The author captures the reader’s attention with the powerful vivid scene descriptions, quick-witted dialogue and priceless humor. There is gripping suspense, spine-chilling action, family drama, a bit of sexual tension too that keeps you more than intrigued until the end. The characters are certainly praise-worthy each having a unique persona that you can relate to. I loved this story as it was uplifting and the mystery was superb; a most entertaining read. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the life of Cookie James; hopefully she does get to finish a date with buffed handyman Dylan. If you treasure intriguing mysteries with lots of humor this is a fantastic addition to your library. {I was gifted this book and this is my honest review.} In the world of mystery romance, the magic begins with the first thought to paper. Without reservations, I recommend this book.
