    Iris Morland in The Nearness of You (The Thorntons Book 1) wrote a heartwarming story of Sara Flannigan a divorced women from the wrong side of the track who returns to her hometown to help her estranged recuperating alcoholic mother. She meets Dr. Harrison Throrton her son's oncologist and they are instantly attracted to each other. The story Iris Morland wrote is a romantic emotional family drama and well worth your time to read. I read the Nearness of You (The Thorntons Book 1) twice. Once for myself, then this time as an ARC and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. One thing I can say about the author is how strong she is with her writing. Not only does she make her characters strong, but what weakness she does show gives them only gives them humanity as well making them relatable. From intense mothers who lord over their children to one mother just trying to make sure her son gets the life he deserves, I couldn’t put the book down. I instantly bought the rest of the series and preordered the rest. If you love a good romance with a strong storyline, this is the book for you. It’s not just about the love that’s made but how that love builds and grows. I can’t wait to read anything this author puts out and look forward to Till There Was You!

    The whole pity party for the girl raised in poverty got old fast. This book was twice as long as it could've and should've been. Not very mixed as far as dialogue. The girl kept proclaiming she wasn't strong and she wasn't. All this girl did was whine about all her problems. The story got old in 10 pages. Very very very very very very very very redundant!!!

    After reading so many trashy romances, finally a gem! The writing is tastefully steamy, and the characters and dynamic of the Thornton family is refreshingly believable. Actually looking forward to reading more about the Thornton love adventures.

    Why do these stories have to be so sexually graphic. I had to flip though so much sex just to get back to the actual story.

    Sara Flannigan grew up poor, from the "wrong side of town." She left her hometown after high school and returned divorced with her young son. Harrison Thornton is the oldest son of the illustrious Thornton family. His family, mother, would never accept a woman like Sara. Harrison is older but still VERY naive about his family, how they rule the town, and how snobby his mother is. I was annoyed with him when he would not believe Sara when she broached the subject with him. Sara is still hurt by the horrible rumors from high school and her former classmates continue the problems when she is out with Harrison. She also has self worth issues and believes herself beneath notice from Harrison or any decent man. Sara exasperates the situation. HEA. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
